Aloha,

Brother Robert passed at 10:15 AM HST this morning, Tuesday, June 15, 2004.

Rev. Kedar St. John said that he left his body with a lot of us around him with music and the song
"Opening To Love" as if he was waiting for some final confirmation. He was with his friends
in the end who were in ceremony before, during, and after.

Our cyber-angel network will let you all know when further services will be conducted.

Brother Robert passed at 10:15 AM HST this morning,
 Tuesday, June 15, 2004.Hawaiian time.  
He had many friends around him at that time. 
 He has made a mark on this lifetime and had so many friends 
all around the world.

          There will be a Southern California memorial on July 3 - more information to follow.

Robert and I were good friends on Maui many years ago. We used to go Sufi
dancing together with Iman and with Yakzan on Oahu. He was a frequent
visitor to my home where many concerts were played and meals enjoyed.

In the light of spirit, I bless him dearly, with all my love, in his
passing into his God essence. He brings with him so much intelligence,
spiritual light, beautiful music and song, and his special quality of love.

It is shocking to learn that he no longer dwells on the Earth plane, yet he
will always live in my heart with his special smile and look of compassion
in his eyes. It is hard to believe he is gone though he brings with him,
his whole life experience, his beauty as a man, his grace and his gifts.

Thank you for keeping me in touch with this sad news as I will dearly miss
his presence in my world.

At this moment, the Master of the Universe, re-claims one who has mastered
Life and Love. His soul now unites with the Eternal One and permeates all
those who love him with a new and higher love. His mastery lights us all
into even more beautiful and refined beings.

God blesses our brother, Robert. May he rise in peace and joy.

Now is the most sacred moment when the Universe unveils its most treasured
secrets. Robert, your goodness and your love spreads throughout creation
and I feel your presence radiating the truth of life upon us with such
sweetness.

Hi Everyone,

Robert Frey died today in Maui following complications from a recent fall.
Robert was a fellow Tantra teacher, healer, Dances of Universal Peace leader,
massage therapy pioneer, and musician, well known for his "Opening to Love" composition.
Friends sang this to him in the hospital as he left the body. If you know it, please sing it often in the next days.

There will be a Southern California memorial July 3. I have no information yet on rituals to be
held in other locations. May his transition be peaceful, loving, and harmonious.
And may his passing be a reminder to us all that this life is fragile, precious, and unpredictable.
Live each moment as if it were your last! It just might be…

Subj: Our Brother is in the Light........

Beloveds:

Thank you for your many prayers, some of which brought tears to my eyes.
I have just received the call that I can barely believe......

Robert has gone home into the Light.

He left his body in Maui today, Tuesday, June 15th at approximately 2:30 pm.

I am still trying to collect an exact accounting of what happened, but the best I can understand now
is that several days ago he fell in the shower . He was taken to hospital by a
friend at that time and did returned home.

Yesterday, he was not feeling well and was taken back to the hospital.
They said he wasn't afraid when they put him on a respirator.

He apparently had developed double pneumonia and his kidneys were not functioning.

I believe he left peacefully.

I know many, many of you love him and will miss him as I will too.

I also know without a doubt that he is in the Light.

For those of you in LA, Diane Bulgatz (at the home where he was living in LA) is having a small gathering tonight.

I am sure there will be many opportunities for us each to Celebrate his life,
mostly by remembering the Joy and the many gifts he has given us. For now,
I would offer to make this Friday's Sufi Dance a tribute. We were blessed to have him with us to
lead our last dance, so it feels appropriate.

I will send out a separate email for that, perhaps tomorrow.

Message to Our Tantra Family

Robert Frey, a very fine Tantra teacher, workshop leader and musician, died this morning at 10:15 a.m.. Robert had evolved his being to a beautiful level and so, from that perspective, was ready to move on. We know that those of you who were a part of his life, or who attended his workshops and sufi dancing, are shocked and saddened at this news. He contributed so much and was loved by many and now is so suddenly gone. It is a reminder that life, which is so precious, cannot be taken for granted. We wish to offer those of you who would like to assist his soul in its' transition the Tibetan Phowa. It is said that the repetition of this Phowa in sacred ceremony helps the soul move from the earth plane, past the bardos, into the spiritual dimensions. We find that at times like these, when we are in shock from the news, that it is also very helpful to those that do the Phowa, bringing a greater experience of peace and connection, both with the departed and the spiritual realm.

In Memoriam of Robert Frey

"The Essential Phowa Practice"

(Adapted from "The Tibetan Book Of Living And Dying" -- Sogyal Rinpoche)

While now in the meditative posture and state, with the mind home, and completely released and relaxed, we invoke the embodiment of all truth we believe in, in the form of radiant light. We now invoke the divine beings and saints we feel lose to and feel with all our hearts the vivid, immediate presence of God. If any of us are not linked with any particular spiritual figure, simply imagine a form of pure golden light in the spiritual sky before you.

Know now that the being or beings we are visualizing or whose presence we feel are the embodiment of the truth, wisdom, and compassion of all the buddhas, saints, masters, and enlightened beings. We fill our hearts with their presence and trust that they are there.

We now focus our minds, hearts, and souls on this divine presence and offer this prayer:

Through your blessing, grace, and guidance, through the power of the light that streams from you, to all of us and to the soul and spirit of the entity known as Robert we pray:

May all of Robert's and our own negative karma, destructive emotions, obscurations, and blockages be purified and removed.May Robert know himself forgiven for all the harm he may have thought and done and may all of us be forgiven.

May Robert receive this profound practice of phowa and experience a good and peaceful death, and through the triumph of his death, may he be able to benefit all other beings, living or dead.

We now see the presence of light we have invoked so moved by our sincere and heartfelt prayer that he or she responds with a loving smile and sends out love and compassion in a stream of rays of light from his or her heart to Robert. (Pause) We now see Robert immersed in these rays of radiant light and as these touch and penetrate him, they cleanse and purify all his karma, destructive emotions, and obscurations which are the causes of suffering. (Pause) Now experience the radiant high beings you have called upon sending that same healing and uplifting light to yourself, to everyone in this room, and to all who mourn the passing of Robert. And know that this healing light is also healing our karmas, destructive emotions, and obscurations which are the cause of our suffering. (Pause) Feel and know that Robert and all of us are totally immersed in light. (Pause)

The soul of Robert is now completely purified and completely healed by the light streaming from the presence. (Pause) And we experience all of us completely healed by the light of divine presence. (Pause) We see and experience Robert's body, itself created by karma, dissolving completely into light. (Pause) And now, all of us, in our light bodies, we experience dissolving into the light. (Pause)

And as the body of light of Robert soars up into the sky it merges, inseparably, with the blissful presence of light. (Pause) May everyone here in their light bodies merge with this oneness and presence of light.

May we remain in this state of oneness with the presence as long as possible.
